Dr. Craig Hurwitz and Andrea McLean, RN recently attended Home Dialysis University to further strengthen their expertise in home dialysis therapies, including both peritoneal dialysis (PD) and home hemodialysis (HHD). Their participation reflects Northern Nephrology & Hypertension’s continued commitment to expanding access to high-quality, patient-centered dialysis care for individuals with end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) across the North Country. During the program, they trained alongside nationally recognized leaders in home dialysis, including Anjali Saxena, Shweta Bansal, Thomas A. Golper, and Matthew B. Rivara. These experts are at the forefront of advancing home dialysis education, research, and global implementation. The intensive training focused on optimizing patient selection, refining prescription strategies, and improving outcomes through individualized home dialysis approaches. By learning directly from leaders who have shaped international guidelines and programs, Dr. Hurwitz and Ms. McLean are bringing cutting-edge knowledge back to the region. This investment in education supports NNH’s mission to empower patients with more flexible, home-based treatment options—allowing individuals to maintain independence, improve quality of life, and achieve better clinical outcomes while receiving care close to home.
