At Northern Nephrology & Hypertension (NNH), our passion for kidney care goes hand in hand with a deep commitment to educating the next generation of healthcare providers. Through our growing clinical rotations program, we proudly host medical students, residents, and pharmacy students who share our dedication to understanding the science and compassion behind nephrology. Our rotations focus not only on the clinical management of kidney disease but also on the rich physiologic principles that underpin health and disease. From complex electrolyte disorders to managing hypertension and chronic kidney disease, students are immersed in real-world experiences that bridge textbook learning with direct patient care. “Our goal is to provide students with a deeper understanding of kidney physiology and its critical role in systemic health,” said Dr. Craig Hurwitz, Medical Director of NNH. “We love watching our interns connect the dots between classroom knowledge and bedside care.” Recent interns include Dakota Tender, a student at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, and Michaela Gillis, a medical student at Loyola University. Both brought curiosity, energy, and compassion to our clinic and dialysis centers, enriching our team and enhancing the care we deliver to our patients. NNH is honored to play a part in shaping the future of healthcare, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with educational institutions to inspire and train tomorrow’s leaders in nephrology.
